________________________________Now let's review what the modern American Church believes.
According to the PEW Research Center in 2015, only 31% of the world's population is Christian.
.
Mission Frontiers Magazine has estimated that only 11% of the world's population is actually Christian.
.
Billy Graham is noted for saying that only 15% of the Church is actually SAVED.
.
The late great David Wilkerson repeatedly said most of the world will indeed go to hell.
.
The modern church often quotes Habakkuk 1:13 "GOD CAN NOT LOOK UPON SIN" .... But they leave out the very next sentence ... "So why does He ?"
.
The
call to be an "imitator of God" is a bit scary when we consider that
many see God as an angry, vengeful tyrant who can't look upon sin.
.
If most of humanity burns for all eternity ... that would mean evil ultimately wins more people than God. - I'm just saying, if most of the population goes to hell, HOW IS THAT CONSIDERED A VICTORY FOR GOD ?
Would a loving parent ever think about condemning their child to an eternity of Fire & torture, simply for not returning their love ? THAT WOULD BE A REALLY BAD PARENT.
Why would God create the human race if He knew beforehand that most would be destroyed in hell ? I'm sorry but NONE OF THIS matches the character of the God I have come to know.
Instead
of portraying GOD as a loving Father ... the modern Church is
portraying God as a sadistic, narcissist, who is bi-polar.
THE MODERN GOSPEL AT WORK.
The GOOD NEWS is that the BAD NEWS is wrong !! EXTREMELY WRONG !!
.
Of the TOP 3 major world religions ... two of them teach eternal torment in hell. (Christianity & Islam).
.
Judaism has never believed in a fiery place of eternal torment ... WHY ?
.
The concept was never taught to them in the Torah. THINK ABOUT IT ...The Jews were in covenant with God for 4 thousand years as His "chosen people"... of whom ALL THE NATIONS OF THE WORLD WOULD BE BLESSED - and yet God never mentioned anything to them about hell ... To this day, the Jews reject the concept of hell and LAUGH AT IT as a Pagan belief from ancient Babylon and Greek mythology ... so why would Jesus (a Jew) believe in Hell ?? - That's what I'm here to discuss.
.
How did Christianity end up with the HELL doctrine ?
.
The translators (scribes) retained the Pagan "after-life" folklore culture of ancient Rome and Greece.
.
In reading the history, it becomes evident how the Greek and Latin scribes held on to some of their pagan beliefs.
.
FOR A BRIEF OVERVIEW on what has been called "Hell" ... We find the original words Sheol, Hades, Gehenna, and Tartarus.
FOR A BRIEF OVERVIEW on what has been called "Hell" ... We find the original words Sheol, Hades, Gehenna, and Tartarus.
.
Sheol is the Hebrew word
for "the grave." (Abraham's Bossom) The ancient Jews described Sheol as a "resting place," and "holding place"
until their Messiah came to resurrect them.
.
HADES is the Greek version of Sheol ... But this word comes straight from Pagan Greek mythology and is therefore not an accurate description of Sheol.
By the time of the first "official" Bible (known as the Latin Vulgate), the Vatican was it's own state run religion. This corrupt religious/government radically CHANGED the wording of the original Hebrew and Greek manuscripts. The Latin Vulgate was used to instill FEAR to control and manipulate the poor peasants who were unable to read and write.
.
The armies of the Roman Catholic Church went on to dominate the European landscape ... and for over a thousand years they persecuted and PROSECUTED people by
means of burning them alive, disembowelment, beheading, drowning, and
torture, forcing people into submission to the Pagan beliefs of the
Roman Catholic Church.
On top of that, the Church of England used the same corrupt Latin manuscripts in the development of it's own Bible ... and eventually, even the King James Bible was developed from the same Latin Vulgate manuscripts.

Gehenna
In the Hebrew culture "Gehenna" was known as the valley of
Hinnom (outside the city walls of Jerusalem). It was known as a defiled place ... and was used for burning garbage and cremating the bodies of dead criminals and the poor. And once again, the Latin translators replaced "Gehenna" with HELL.
Wikipedia puts it like this ...
Gehenna (/ɡɪˈhɛnə/, /ɡəˈhɛnə/[1]) or Gehinnom (literally translated as "Valley of Hinnom") is a small valley in Jerusalem. In the Hebrew Bible, Gehenna was initially where some of the kings of Judah sacrificed their children by fire. (See Jeremiah 19) Therefore, it was deemed to be cursed (Book of Jeremiah 7:31, 19:2–6).[3]
In rabbinic literature, Gehinnom is not Hell. Although the King James version of the Bible misleadingly translated it with the Anglo-Saxon word (Hell) ... "The Valley of Hinnom" is the valley surrounding Jerusalem's Old City, from the west and south. It meets and merges with the Kidron Valley, near the southeastern corner of the city.
*********************************
Because the words Gehinnom / Gehenna were REPLACED with "Hell", it has often been
said that Jesus preached on "Hell" more than any other topic ... However, that is
not an accurate statement. Jesus was constantly warning the Jews about the coming destruction of Jerusalem (70AD), telling them that if
they did not flee to the mountains, their bodies would end up in
"Gehenna," the literal trash heap outside the city wall. This was a direct warning to
the apostate Jews in Jerusalem.
.
NOTICE how the following verses from the original Greek, make no mention of HELL whatsoever.

Matthew 23:33, to the Pharisees: "You serpents, you brood of vipers, how shall you to escape the sentence of Gehenna?"
.
Mark 9:45: "It is better for you to enter life lame, than having your two feet, to be cast into Gehenna."
.
Mark 9:47: "It is better for you to enter the Kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes, to be cast into Gehenna."
.
Matthew 5:22: "....whoever shall say, 'You fool,' shall be guilty enough to go into Gehenna."
.
Matthew 23:15: "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites,
because you... make one proselyte...twice as much a child of Gehenna as
yourselves."
.
Matthew 5:30: "....better for you that one of the parts of your body perish, than for your whole body to go into Gehenna."
.
Matthew 10:28: "....rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in Gehenna."
.
Matthew 18:9: "It is better for you to enter life with one eye, than with two eyes to be thrown into the Gehenna...."

.
Luke 12:5: "... fear the One who has authority to cast into Gehenna; yes, I tell you, fear Him."

Jeremiah 19 told us exactly what would happen in Gehenna:
6. Therefore, beware, the day is coming, saith the Lord, that this place shall no more be called Tophet, nor "The valley of Hinnom," but "The valley of slaughter."
7. And I will make void the counsel of Judah and Jerusalem IN THIS PLACE; and I will cause them to FALL BY THE SWORD before their enemies, and by the hands of them that seek their lives: and their CARCASSES will I give to be meat for the fowls of the air, and for the beasts of the earth.
8. And I (God) will make this city desolate, and an hissing; every one that passes thereby shall be astonished and hiss because of all the plagues thereof.
9. And I will cause them to eat the flesh of their sons and the flesh of their daughters, and they shall eat every one the flesh of his friend in the siege, wherewith their enemies, and they that seek their lives, shall straiten them.

However, when Titus, in going his rounds along those valleys, saw them full of dead bodies, and the thick putrefaction running about them, he gave a groan; and, spreading out his hands to heaven, called God to witness that this was not his doing; and such was the sad case of the city itself."

The Jewish historian Josephus recorded the devastation of Gehenna ...
War 5.12.3-4

TARTARUS
In Greek mythology, the realm of Hades is the misty and gloomy abode where all mortals go when they die. No mortals could leave Hades once they entered. In
Hades, there is a variety of unique forms of punishment for each
individual person ... and several levels including Elysium, the Asphodel
Meadows, and Tartarus.
.
Originally, Tartarus was said to be used to confine the gods who were a threat to Olympus. In later mythologies, Tartarus became a space dedicated to
the imprisonment and torment of mortals who had sinned against the gods (plural).
____________________________
For the sake of comparison ... Let's compare the passage (2 Peter 2:4) with the Jewish Orthodox Bible.
"For Hashem (God) did not spare malachim (angels) that sinned, but cast them into
Gehinnom, consigning them to the sharsherot (chains) of choshech to be
kept for Mishpat."
NOTE: The Pagan "Tartarus," is translated Gehinnom in Hebrew.
_____________________________________________
FROM: Biblehub.com ...
" ... and though "Tartarus" doesn't actually occur in the Old or New Testament, it more than likely refers to Gehenna. (https://biblehub.com/2_peter/2-4.htm)
_____________________
FROM: Wikipedia ...
"In the New Testament, Tartarus as a place (a noun), does NOT occur. However, the verb tartaroō (as in "to cast down") is used as a shortened form of the classical Greek verb kata-tartaroō (casting down to Tartarus"). This does appear in 2 Peter 2:4 as a figure of speech, to describe the defeat of demonic forces.
.
In classical texts, the longer form kata-tartaroo is often related to the "throwing of the Titans down to Tartarus."
.
Methodist theologian Adam Clarke (1762-1832) once stated ... "The ancient Greeks
appear to have received an account of the punishment of
the 'fallen angels,' and their poets did in
conformity I presume, with that account, make Tartarus the place where
the giants who rebelled against Jupiter, and the souls of the wicked,
were confined."
**********************************
The Latin scribes did us no favor by replacing Sheol, Hades, Gehenna & Tartarus with HELL. It
is a completely FALSE notion, and very misleading. Those Pagan beliefs
that were inserted have become a deeply embedded stumbling block for
Christianity... which is why their modern message does not resemble the
God they talk about.

THE BIBLE ITSELF ADMITS THAT THE WRITTEN WORD HAS BEEN COMPROMISED BY SCRIBES ...
.
Jeremiah 8:8 ... "How can you say, 'we are wise, for we have the law of the Lord,' when actually the LYING PEN of the scribes has HANDLED IT FALSELY."
.
Jeremiah 23:36 ... "For ye have PERVERTED THE WORDS of the living God, the Lord of hosts."
.
Later
on, entire verses were ADDED into the LATIN based bibles. Here are just
some of the verses that were ADDED later by Latin scribes (not found in
the original Greek) ...
MARK 16:17-18 , LUKE 24:51 , JOHN 7:53 , JOHN 8:12 , 1 JOHN 5:7
.
It
proves problematic when modern Christians substitute their trust in God
with trusting in Bibles and interpretations of Bibles.
.
Meanwhile, Christ Himself is the LIVING WORD (never changing). He alone is the key that makes it all come together.

What is the difference between "Universalism" and "Ultimate
Reconciliation" ???
Before you quickly label this as universalism ... let me be abundantly clear.
Universalism
pronounces that all paths, all religions, all beliefs lead to the same
point. I am saying the opposite by stating Christ is the ONLY WAY, the ONLY TRUTH, the ONLY LIFE, and no one can come to the Father except through Him.
It's
obvious there's a HUGE difference between Universalism and "Ultimate
Reconciliation."
Historically,
the early Christians practiced and believed in "Ultimate
Reconciliation", and this is easily proven historically :
* Four of the six
schools that taught theology during the first 5 centuries after Christ -
all taught "Ultimate Reconciliation." Those schools were: Caesarea,
Nisbis, Alexandria, and Antioch. Look them up.
*
1 Timothy 2:6 is only ONE of MANY verses that declare a salvation for
ALL. This verse plainly endorses a "Ultimate Reconciliation" by using
the word ALL, with nothing in context referring to it being CONDITIONAL
upon any acts or requirements. This verse also endorses a "coming age"
inference by stating: "Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified
in DUE TIME."
* Is the word
"Cosmos" describing a select few in: "God was in Christ, reconciling
the COSMOS to Himself, not counting men's sins against them" ?? Once
again, there is nothing in context separating one man from another, nor
is it CONDITIONAL.
*
Christianity will agree with half a verse that says in Adam "all" die.
You can't get anymore "universal" than that ! However, the second half
of the verse states that in Christ the SAME ALL are going to live,
meaning the same (everyone) are going to live in Him.
* Death never stopped God from redeeming fallen man.
* Since His love NEVER fails, and His mercy endures FOREVER, how can anyone think this only applies to Christians ?
